Parking Permits
RISD staff, faculty, emeritus professors, and trustees can obtain a RISD parking permit from DPS, in order to park in designated parking facilities (both those owned by RISD and private facilities where RISD has arranged for employee parking).
Acquiring a parking permit
You may submit your RISD parking permit application online or in person by bringing a completed PDF form to our South Hall office, Monday through Friday from 8 am–3 pm.
We process applications submitted in person immediately, and issue your permit immediately after processing. For all other applications, we will send your permit via interoffice mail.
A standard campus parking permit entitles you to park in all RISD lots. Parking is first-come, first-served as spaces come available.
Parking permit fees
There is currently no charge for an employee parking permit. RISD reserves the right to reevaluate and restore parking fee structures for upcoming fiscal cycles.
Expectations for permit holders
Permit holders are expected to read and understand all RISD parking policies and must display your permit when parking on campus. Vehicles are subject to ticketing, towing or immobilization unless a valid permit is visible inside the vehicle. You are responsible for all citations/fees associated with any vehicle displaying their permit.
You may only utilize RISD parking facilities when you have official business on campus. We prohibit storing of vehicles on campus or in RISD parking facilities.
